Earlier this week I read a volume of short stories by Miranda July, entitled No One Belongs Here More Than You. You Are Not Here has 522 ratings and 108 reviews. Her name just started to pop up everywhere, and I guess the first story I read by her was "Ashes", which was published in the Journey Prize collection last year. Book: No One Belongs Here More Than You. Rachel is the youngest in a family of high-achievers. No One Belongs Here doesn't pack much dramatic heft: It wedges 16 stories (nine of them previously published) into a mere 200 pages, with the shortest entry a mere two pages long. That's what I kept telling myself while staring at the bright and shiny cover.
